Tuition and Expertise
Training Courses
The FCCF runs two three-day ”driving licence” courses under the aegis of the DASC-DOC Ph. D school and the SDU post-education (SDUe) scheme, respectively. The courses take place 3- to 4 times a year. See Courses or SUDe, respectively, for further information.
Literature
There are two booklets by Graham Leslie entitled
“Flow Cytometry: A Basic Guide” and
“Flow Cytometric Cell Sorting: A Basic Guide”
feel free to down-load.
Tuition
Specialised group- or individual tuition can be arranged.
Expertise
The core facility staff is experienced in sorting on the basis of
- phenotypic markers,
- cell cycle,
- DNA-binding dye exclusion (“side-populations”) and
- calcium ion flux
as 2-way, 4-way or clonal (96-well) sorts.
In terms of analytical flow Cytometry, the unit is well versed in
- cell phenotyping,
- marker quantitation,
- cell proliferation analyses,
- intracellular probing,
- phagocytosis assays,
- calcium mobilisation and
- measurement of apoptosis.
Members of the unit are always willing to give specific advice about the technical and strategic aspects of Flow Cytometry/Cell Sorting. Just ask!
